Here is the first post. The title of this blog pretty much says it all: Markets. Business. Life. These are 3 subjects that frequently consume my time. For further clarity, let me explain.
Markets - I watch the equity (stock) markets all the time from my home base in Toronto, Canada. Most of the stocks that interest me are small-cap, high growth stories. The kind of stocks that are likely to return 100%, 200%, 300% or more. In here are also thoughts about the market in general. Like I said, I think about the market all the time and I enjoy discussing it with others. Let me know your thoughts! (All posts are open to anonymous comments although I reserve the right to delete comments...)
Business - Another topic that I think about all the time is business in general. What makes one business successful while another one fails? Or in returning to a city after a long absence, which businesses are still around while others folded? Which businesses are successful in spite of themselves, while others can't make a dime despite having all the right elements? Who spent too much on leaseholds to ever make the business successful? Or who has a monopoly in a market, big or small, such that customers have no choice? And most of all, which businesses translate into good stock market investments (as these two can be mutually exclusive at times)
Life - Life happens around us, and we all have the capacity to observe it. This is a catch-all category for stuff that doesn't belong in the other categories.
Quotable - Every once in awhile we all come across quotes that mean something to us. These are quotes that I've found to be meaningful to me. This is a place to share and discuss them.
